How to Add an M3U Playlist to Any IPTV Player

How to Add an M3U Playlist to Any IPTV Player

Whether you're using IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate, VLC or something else, adding an M3U playlist follows roughly the same pattern everywhere. Here's the universal method.

The general steps

  1. Open your player app and find "Add Playlist" or "Add User" in its settings or main menu.
  2. Choose the M3U URL option (as opposed to Xtream Codes login, if both are offered).
  3. Paste your playlist URL exactly as provided — see what a correctly formatted URL looks like.
  4. Give the playlist a name (optional, for your own reference) and save.
  5. Wait for the app to download and parse the channel list — this can take a few seconds to a minute depending on list size.

App-specific notes

In IPTV Smarters Pro, this is under Add New User → M3U URL. In TiviMate, it's Settings → Playlists → Add Playlist → M3U URL — see the full TiviMate configuration guide for EPG setup afterward. In VLC, use Media → Open Network Stream and paste the URL directly — see the VLC playlist guide for the full walkthrough.

If the playlist won't load

Double check the URL for typos or extra spaces first — this causes the vast majority of load failures. If the URL is correct but nothing loads, see M3U playlist not working for deeper troubleshooting.

Using Xtream Codes instead

If your provider gave you separate username/password/server fields rather than a single URL, use the Xtream Codes login method instead — most modern apps support both.
