TiviMate Setup Guide: EPG, DVR & Playlist Configuration

TiviMate Setup Guide: EPG, DVR & Playlist Configuration

If you haven't installed TiviMate yet, start with our TiviMate overview and basic setup guide first. This article picks up from there — the three configuration steps that take TiviMate from "working" to actually well-organized: EPG sourcing, multi-playlist setup, and the DVR options.

Getting the EPG source configured correctly

TiviMate's EPG grid is one of its strongest features, but it only works well if the guide data is pointed at the right source. When you add your Xtreme HD IPTV playlist, TiviMate should automatically detect and load the associated EPG — but if the grid looks empty or misaligned:

  • Open the playlist's settings (long-press the playlist icon) and check the EPG source URL field is populated.
  • If it's blank, use the EPG URL provided in your Xtreme HD IPTV welcome email.
  • Force an EPG refresh from Settings → Playlists → your playlist → Update EPG, rather than waiting for the automatic sync cycle.
  • If times look off by a fixed number of hours, check Settings → Interface → Time Zone matches your actual location — this is the most common cause of an EPG that loads but shows the wrong schedule.

Setting up multiple playlists in one interface

TiviMate supports merging more than one playlist source into a single unified channel list — useful if you maintain more than one line or want to combine a VOD-focused source with your main live channels. Add each playlist separately under Settings → Playlists → Add Playlist, then use the channel list editor to organize them into shared categories rather than leaving them as separate blocks.

Configuring channel groups and favorites

With a large channel list, the default ordering can get unwieldy fast. Use the channel editor (the pencil icon in the guide view) to build custom groups — Sports, News, Kids, and so on — and mark your most-used channels as favorites so they surface at the top of the list instead of buried in a long alphabetical scroll.

DVR and cloud recording — what actually works

TiviMate's DVR functionality records to local storage on your device and depends entirely on your IPTV provider's stream supporting the recording flag — it isn't a universal feature across every service. Rather than assuming it will work, test a short recording first before relying on it for anything time-sensitive.

TiviMate Premium: is it worth it for Xtreme HD IPTV subscribers?

TiviMate's free tier covers everything described above. Premium adds cosmetic customization and some catch-up features, but nothing that changes core functionality with a well-configured playlist and EPG. Most Xtreme HD IPTV subscribers don't need it unless they specifically want the extra interface options.

If something isn't working
