IPTV on LG Smart TV (webOS): Complete Setup Guide

IPTV on LG Smart TV (webOS): Complete Setup Guide

LG Smart TVs run webOS, which — like Samsung's Tizen — doesn't support sideloading Android apps. The setup path is nearly identical to Samsung's, with a few webOS-specific notes.

Step 1: Install Smart IPTV or SS IPTV from the LG Content Store

Both apps are available on webOS. If your LG TV is running an older webOS version, SS IPTV tends to have broader backward compatibility.

Step 2: Get your MAC address

Open the app to display its assigned MAC address on screen.

Step 3: Activate with support

Send the MAC address to Xtreme HD IPTV support to have your playlist linked.

Step 4: Restart the app

Reopen the app after activation — the channel list and EPG load automatically.

webOS-specific notes

  • Older LG TVs (pre-2018 webOS versions) may have a smaller available app selection — confirm your TV's webOS version in Settings if an app isn't appearing.
  • LG's Magic Remote pointer navigation works fine within these apps, though a standard directional remote is often faster for channel-list scrolling.

For the Samsung equivalent, see IPTV on Samsung Smart TV. Full device reference: Smart TV installation guide.
