IPTV Channel Logos & EPG Artwork: Why Some Channels Show a Blank Icon
If some channels show a blank or generic icon instead of their proper logo, here's why — and why it's purely cosmetic.
Logo data comes from a separate source
Channel logos and EPG artwork are typically pulled from a metadata source separate from the actual video stream — a gap in that specific data doesn't affect playback at all.
Smaller or regional channels are more commonly affected
Well-known major networks tend to have more complete logo/artwork data available; smaller or regional channels sometimes have sparser metadata simply because fewer sources track them.
This doesn't indicate a subscription problem
A missing logo has no bearing on stream quality or channel functionality — if the channel plays fine otherwise, this is a cosmetic-only gap.
